The Four of Swords: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading
4-26-22 through 5-03-22
The Four of Swords is this week’s Tarotcast card. Here is authority exercised with grace. Equilibrium with justice is the energy of this forecast period. Remember that Swords are weapons of war. Any truce or peace results from discord; even conflict or violence. And any truce will be temporary.
The Elements
Jupiter’s masculine authority creates a dynamic and even martial armed enforcement of peace. In the Air sign of Libra, intellect and rational thinking are the path to conflict resolution.
The Number 4
The Fours of the Minor Arcana bring form and structure to their respective elements. Here is stability and nurturing for further development and manifestation. The Fours bring unification, domestication, reflection or gestation to events and situations.
Kabbalah
On the Tree of Life, the Four of Swords card represents the formula 4. Sephiroth or sphere 4, Chesed (Mercy). The sphere of Jupiter, the rule of Law. In the suit of Swords (Yetzirah). The world of Form. The element of Air, representing the intellect and mental processes. Plus, Jupiter in Libra equaling Truce.
Astrology
The Four of Swords card symbolizes Jupiter in Libra. It rules from 20 to 30 degrees Libra, or October 13th to October 22nd. So, if your birthday falls on or between these dates you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. Jupiter in Libra energy is great for socializing. It’s perfect for increasing one’s popularity or public reputation. There is a strong sense of justice and fair play as well as a desire to promote the general welfare and public good.
In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Earth-sign Taurus. The Bull can be stubborn, so when genuine compromise is needed, be prepared to bend. Just not too much. Both Libra and Taurus are ruled by Venus. Venus energy is peace-loving and harmonious.
“And each time I feel like this inside there’s one thing I wanna know: What’s so funny ’bout peace love & understanding?”
Pluto retrogrades in Earth-sign Capricorn on April 29th. Pluto’s energy is intense.
And this retrograde lasts until October 8th. Power and its uses are the focus of this period. We’re less open and direct about how we express our desire for and use our power.
The New Moon Solar Eclipse (partial) in Taurus on April 30th is the second in a series that began last November. In this Solar Eclipse Venus is tightly conjunct Jupiter in Pisces. This energy is great for new beginnings and its effects can be felt for up to 6 months from the eclipse date. All matters of personal finances, investments, values, personal resources along with our sense of self-worth and desire for safety, stability and security are highlighted with this transit.
“…I won’t put my hands up and surrender. There will be no white flag above my door…”
When Venus enters Fire-sign Aries on May 2nd love is direct, spontaneous and assertive. We’re excited by the chase. We are also moved to action, conquests and daring or even risky behavior. We’re impulsive under this fiery energy. We can be intensely interested in something or someone, but that can quickly fade.
Lastly on May 3rd Jupiter (in Pisces) sextiles Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. Discovering what motivates us and spurs our ambitions is productive and enjoyable. We look to grow, improve and enhance all aspects of our lives. Heightened persuasive powers result in our success.
Shadow
Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes isolation and retreat. Also, illness (physical, mental or emotional). Making too many concessions and over-compromising, trying for peace at any price.
Light
Let’s focus being tolerant. We can use a temporary break in the action to plan our next move. Seek the result that achieves the best and highest good for all concerned.
Alchemy
Power colors: violet, purple and blue for Jupiter. Deep green and blue for Libra.
Power stones: sapphire, amethyst, diamond, lapis and opal. Wear as jewelry or carry as power stones for balance, fairness and justice in your dealings this week.
Power metals: copper and tin. These metals combine to create bronze. Bronze is harder and less brittle than either of these metals alone. It is both useful and beautiful. In olden times, people made weapons from bronze. You can make a sword, a tool or a sculpture. Choose any of these – but choose well.
Power fragrances: violet, white rose, heliotrope, cedar and honeysuckle. Choose these to help keep you on an even keel this week – with stability, balance and fairness.
Power foods: clove, sage, poppy seeds, anise, cinnamon, mint, nutmeg or sage. And all provide the same beneficial effects already described.
