The Eight of Disks: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading
11-16-21 through 11-23-21
The Eight of Disks is this week’s Tarotcast card. This suit is also called Pentacles or Coins. This card represents order, self-discipline and attention to detail. There are benefits to knowing when to watch and wait, to wait and see. With a stable, secure foundation one can build as needed when the time is right.
The energy of the Sun warms and quickens the Earth. Plants and trees grow, providing light, beauty and nourishment.
The Number 8
The 8s of the minor Arcana evaluate and organize. They bring reason and communication to their respective suits and elements. The eights bring justice. Karmic balancing or rebalancing, order and structure within limitations and boundaries. Like the sevens, their position on the Tree of Life is somewhat weak and unbalanced.
But, the Eight of Disks represents balanced energy. Where’d that come from? It gets its unique benefits from its astrological correspondence.
On the Tree of Life, the Eight of Disks represents the formula 8. Sephiroth or sphere 8, Hod (Splendor). The sphere of Mercury and the feminized Male. Along with the suit of Disks, the element of Earth; Assiah, the material world. Our physical bodies, assets and resources. Plus the Sun in Virgo equaling Prudence.
The Eight of Disks symbolizes the Sun in Virgo. It rules from 0 to 10 degrees Virgo, or August 23rd to September 1st. So, if your birthday falls on or between those dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. The Sun in Virgo brings a positive and stabilizing energy. In business or gardening, in material matters there is a benefit in knowing when to do nothing. There is a time to when the best action is to plant the seeds and wait.
In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Water-sign Scorpio. This is a peaceful week for the planets. Mercury, Virgo’s ruling planet is also transiting Scorpio. Both our communications and our actions focus on behind-the-scenes processes. This is a good energetic match to the energy of this week’s card.
“So build me up (build me up) Buttercup, don’t break my heart…”
Avoiding some of the pitfalls presented by the Shadow energy of this week’s card is crucial. In contrast, the benefits are many and improve the bottom line. Stability allows us to build and grow our material wealth and our emotional security.
“Dear Prudence, greet the brand new day, the sun is up, the sky is blue…”
We have a Full Moon in Earth-sign Taurus on November 19th. And it’s a partial Lunar Eclipse. We’ll be intensely focused on the material world. Our physical and sensual needs and desires take center stage. This energy combines well with this week’s card. Healthy self-interest is a positive. We do need to avoid stubbornness and bull-headedness though.
Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of the Eight of Disks includes over-attention to detail. Missing the big picture. Manipulating people or situations to gain an unfair advantage. Paralysis through extended inaction.
Let’s focus on practicality. This is the perfect week to get our houses in order, in spirit and in fact.
